WI-W vs NZ-W 3rd T20 Match Prediction & Betting Tips
West Indies Women will take on New Zealand Women in the third WT20I at The Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. The third game of the series begins at 13:30 local time on Sunday 2nd October.
West Indies Women
After winning by only one run when defending a total of 115, West Indies were beaten with only two balls remaining when defending a target of 108 on Saturday. Both teams have struggled to bat with any fluency whereas stopping runs in the field has been an easier task.
Number three batter Kyshona Knight top scored for West Indies Women with 42 runs from 48 balls on Saturday but it was number five batter Chinelle Henry who produced the only innings on her side with a strike-rate of over 100 with 24 runs from 22 balls.
Defending a low total is always hard work for any bowling attack but West Indies Women bowled well as a unit on Saturday. No bowler had an economy rate of over 6.50 and Hayley Matthews conceded only nine runs from her three overs.
The home side could not make it three wins in a row in this format on Saturday. However, they have lost only two of their last five WT20Is.
New Zealand Women
The White Ferns will have been delighted to finally get over the line in the second WT20I after coming so close to doing so, but ultimately failing, in the first game of the series. All in all, they had just enough quality to beat West Indies Women and level the series.
Opener Suzie Bates produced the innings of the game to take New Zealand Women to victory on Saturday. She took very few risks in her innings of 54 runs from 61 balls and when she was dismissed, her team needed only 19 runs from 24 balls.
There were only two wicket takers for New Zealand Women in the second WT20I and it was Hayley Jensen who took on the strike-bowler role. She dismissed two of West Indies Women’s top three and finished with figures of 3-24 from four overs. Eden Carson took 2-12 from her four overs.
New Zealand Women have won two of their last three WT20Is. They also showed that they can win a close contest on Saturday.
