WI-W vs NZ-W 5th T20 Match Prediction & Betting Tips
West Indies Women will take on New Zealand Women in the fifth WT20I at The Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. The fifth game of the series begins at 13:30 local time on Thursday 6th October.
West Indies Women
After winning the opening match of the series, West Indies Women have been unable to turn dominant positions into further victories. They very nearly won Wednesday’s game but could only hit three runs from their final over and went on to lose the Super Over.
Six of West Indies Women’s batters made scores of 10 and over in the fourth WT20I but only one made 23 with Chedean Nation top scoring from 28 balls. Natasha McLean was the only player to hit a six in that clash but it is Aaliyah Alleyne with 79 runs who is the side’s highest run scorer in the series.
Skipper Hayley Matthews is the top wicket taker in the series having dismissed six players at an average of 8.66. She also has a very impressive economy rate of 3.46 from the four games so far and bowled the Super Over for West Indies Women.
West Indies Women have not been outplayed across the series and the teams have been far closer than the 3-1 scoreline at the moment.
New Zealand Women
The White Ferns have shown strength of character and strong technical skills to win the big moments of this series so far. This was on display again on Wednesday when they hit a six from the final ball of the Super Over to register their third victory of the series.
Captain Sophie Devine scored 17 of New Zealand Women’s 18 runs in the Super Over in the last game which should give her plenty of confidence after a poor series with the bat over the four matches. Amelia Kerr top scored with 49 not out from 47 balls to take her tally to 73 runs across the four matches
Hayley Jensen delivered the brilliant 20th over in the final over of the match on Wednesday. The medium pace bowler dismissed Chedean Nation and Afy Fletcher whilst conceding only three runs to tie the match ahead of the Super Over.
New Zealand Women have not been overly dominating but continue to win the crucial parts of the games in this series.
